The LIETZ’
I will begin my Lietz line with my Maternal Grandmother. Unfortunately, there is not as much information as I’d like to have at this time but, with some persistence, hopefully it won’t be long before I have more.

Pearl Robertshaw  b. 18 Feb 1907 in Detroit   -  d. 15 Nov 1979  in St. Petersburgh, Florida, was the daughter of John Robertshaw  b. 6 Sept 1881 in Canada  -  d. 18 June 1962 in Mt. Clemens, Mi, and Meta Maria Emilie Lietz  b. 28 Feb 1886  in Detroit  -  d. 12 Feb 1956 in East Detroit.
Meta (or May, as she was called) was the daughter of German  immigrants  William (Wilhelm) Lietz  b. 1 Oct 1853  -  d. 7 June 1922 in Detroit, and Wilelmina Wrobel  b. 30 Sept 1853  -  d. 27 Dec 1925 in Detroit.
William’s parentage, Ferdinand Lietz and Johanna (not sure of her maiden name), were both born ca 1830’s, probably in Germany - but no proof of that yet.
The same for Wilhelmina’s father, Christian Wrobel  b. ca 1830’s.

I have written letters to Germany to find more information, to no avail so far.
